This project was the starting point to my EJS project. It began through finding my grandfather’s journals that he had written when incarcerated between 1980-90, as well as letters that my grandmother had written to a friend at the same time.

I wanted to create a book that showed these accounts of the time period side by side. This allows the viewer to read two very different experiences of the same event at the same time. It is a facinating story and I loved the opportunity to explore it in this way.
