Matters

Matters is a project that begun by asking ‘what unusual products or materials could be repurposed?’

I worked with my peer Alice Smith to create this campaign using a series of risograph posters, raising awareness about the harm and pollution produced when throwing away contact lenses.

We spent a lot of time experimenting with the ways in which we could repurpose contact lenses and their packaging. We involved the use of a t shirt press to melt the contact lenses together and create interesting, unique shapes. We liked the intriguing properties of the melted contact lenses and the ambiguous nature of what the object is when first viewed, and how it draws you to it.
